How Some Dentists can Help Resolve Problems with Frequent Nighttime Urination and Sleep Apnea to Improve your Quality of Life.

Did you know that Frequent Nighttime Urination, aka Nocturia, is a symptom of Sleep Apnea (airway obstruction stoppages of breathing)? Don’t feel dumb, most doctors of all types don’t know either. And hardly anyone would think of going to a dentist, certain ones who can treat Sleep Apnea, either. But that is exactly what children and adults with Frequent Nighttime Urination problems should do. When the airway is closed-off during episodes of Sleep Apnea, oxygen decreases, carbon dioxide increases, the blood becomes more acidic, the heart rate drops, esophagus & intra-abdomoinal pressures increase & more blood flows to the right atrium of your heart. Your body thinks it has too much fluid, so it reacts by making its own natural diuretics that cause your body to get rid of sodium & water. What happens next? You wake-up to start breathing again & you go urinate. Can other things cause the Frequent Nighttime Urination problem, like Diabetes mellitis, lower urinary tract infections, degenerative neurologic conditions, & psychological factors? Absolutely! They are part of your differential diagnosis. The Dentist connection? Sleep Apnea Appliances, worn in the mouth, that a few of us dentists can custom-make for you, are the #1 best treatment for mild to moderate forms of Sleep Apnea. CPAP machines are the best for severe Apnea cases, but 50% of people, who have them, cannot tolerate the CPAP machine, so we make intra-oral appliances for 50% of the severe cases too! IF YOUR LIFE IS AFFECTED by FREQUENT NIGHTTIME URINATION and SLEEP APNEA, SEE a DENTIST WHO CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE with a SIMPLE, NON-INVASIVE, APPLIANCE WORN at NIGHT. “A little secret: the ones I design can also help with headaches, facial pain, neck aches, & TMJ problems as an ADDED BENEFIT.”

Why you should want a "skilled" dentist to do your facial wrinkle/dermal filler treatments.

Some of our patients have had their face corrected for sagging or lost collagen and fat, or had their lips done with dermal fillers by plastic surgeons and dermatologists and said they WOULD NEVER HAVE IT DONE AGAIN because it was so painful. We have done the same dermal filler / facial wrinkle filler treatments and patients have had ZERO PAIN! How can that be? Because some dentists are skilled in doing dental block numbing of the areas treated, especially important for augmenting lips (usually the most painful procedure). The pharmaceutical companies have even developed dermal fillers with local anesthetic in it for physicians to use. This is of no help DURING your procedure because it will take awhile to work. Marionette lines and nose to corner of the mouth folds……same painless results here for the facial wrinkle fillers / dermal fillers! Looks are another story. It helps if your dentist, or physician, is a true artist. Thinking of MAKING YOURSELF LOOK MORE YOUTHFUL? Call if you have personal questions, or respond with general questions and comments here. One of our recent enhancements is below.

A dental disease shortening my life and ruining my quality of life?Yes, Periodontal Disease, aka Gum Disease! Most people, including dentists, have never considered this. Chronic gum infection allows microbes to enter your blood stream and cause inflammation throughout your body. Why is this important? Because it causes the liver to release proteins that make your cholesterol more sticky, covering your blood vessel walls, filling it in, and making your heart overwork to pump the needed amount of blood around your body. This wears out your ticker faster, causing heart attacks, the need for by-pass surgery (if you catch it in time), the expense of numerous drugs to keep you functioning, loss of sex drive, and on and on….. If some of that plaque breaks loose, and lodges in blood vessels in your brain, you will have a STROKE. Unfortunately, people usually do not get treatment until the late stages, when they have pain. Did I forget to mention the major connection between gum disease and DIABETES? There is more on that in our website. Food for thought! Questions?
