Bad Breath(a.k.a. HALITOSIS) is generally caused by sulfur compounds given off when cell membranes break down as cells die. By far, the vast majority of bad breath problems are caused by gum ( periodontal ) disease germs growing around your teeth and on the surface of your tongue in the fuzzy papillae there.
The second leading cause of bad breath, especially in the Northeast here, are your sinuses. Rarely, odors can be emanating from your stomach. If this is the source, you need a medical evaluation.
Treatments here include eliminating infections in your mouth, usually periodontal treatment, but in some cases also treating decayed teeth.
Additionally, we use and recommend, Dental Herb Company’s “Tooth & Gums Tonic”, which is a concentrated mixture of essential oils and herbs, available only through dental offices. It is the best currently available. There are no over-the-counter or prescription formulas anywhere near as good.
